Is Tomorrowland Global Journey worth it?

First of all, if you are reading this and do not know very well what Tomorrowland is, I recommend you read this other post about whether Tomorrowland is worth or not, once you have read it, come back here to know more about the Global Journey ;)

As the event’s own page explains, “Tomorrowland Global Journey offers you a comprehensive experience, covering your trip from the moment it takes off.”

The “Tomorrowland Global Journey” is one of the many packages that Tomorrowland organizers offer for all those who want to attend the festival. As I explained in my other post, getting a ticket for Tomorrowland is almost impossible, so the best way to secure one is through this package.

Packages and location

Within the Global Journey you have many combinations: train, bus, hotel … But for me without a doubt the best is the plane package with hotel included. With it, you will have flight, round trip transportation from the airport to the hotel and travel from the hotel to the festival every day included. And not only this, the best of all is that you will have buffet breakfast also included at no additional cost! No hot dogs with mojito as it happened to me in my first year! No no, with the hotel and flight package you will have access to a breakfast worthy of kings and that will help you charge the batteries throughout the day.

Once you decide on this package, you can choose from the many hotels and hostels that are offered: gold, silver, bronze level … Each level has a different cost. In my second year, 2019, I opted for a bronze hotel in the center of Brussels, the “Thon Brussels City Center” and the truth is that I could not have chosen a better hotel!

The hotel was located less than 7 minutes walk from the Grand Place in Brussels and, although it was not very luxurious, all rooms had been remodeled with a modern touch and flat-screen TVs. But best of all was the breakfast … Waffles, pancakes, typical Belgian sweets, fruit, cereal milk, cheese, sausage, juice … every night before bed I was already ringing with breakfast the next day!

If you are not a person who loves camping or tents, do not think for a minute, a hotel package is what you are looking for and exactly what you need;)

Price

If you have read my other post, you will have seen that the price of the Global Journey with Magnificent Greens (you have to sleep in a tent), flight and 4 four nights had cost me around 1,000 euros. If we include breakfast every day (only breakfast, no meals during the rest of the day) it would stay at about 1,100 euros or so.

How much would you say the Tomorrowland Global Journey cost me with hotel and flight? This time instead of 4 nights were 5 hotel nights, from Wednesday to Monday, breakfast and a pre-party in Antwerp on Thursday. The price of all this was 1,525.43 EUR, yes, I know, it is 400EUR more but with one more hotel night and access to a party on Thursday in a completely different city.

A party that is much more than just a party. You will start the day with a small scavenger hunt where they will give you a map and you will have to go around the city visiting different places and collecting gifts such as your country’s flag, postcards, Belgian chocolate, cold beer and of course, Belgian fries. But if all this does not seem enough, believe me, you do not know how good it feels to hit a warm shower when you get to the room after 12 hours jumping partying, just for the shower is worth it.

Verdict

If I had to choose to go to Tomorrowland only once, I would choose this package with hotel and flight again. The extra night, the location in the center of Brussels, the double bed, the shower with hot water, the breakfast, the pre-party in Antwerp, all these details are totally worth it.
